LATEST CHELY WRIGHT NEWS ****** LATEST CHELY WRIGHT NEWS ******* LATEST CHELY WRIGHT NEWS
NEW Chely Wright Album

Chely's brand new album Lifted Off The Ground will be released on May 4, 2010 by Vanguard.EMI Records. The album was produced by Rodney Crowell and features eleven new original songs all solely written by Chely.  (Except for one special song on which Crowell and Wright collaborated, called Heavenly Days.) More info on the album and the first single after the new year!!!

The Reading, Writing & Rhythm Benefit Concert
Celebrating 10 years!!!!

The annual concert, which has been called the "unofficial kick off to the CMA Music Fest",  will take place on Tuesday, June 8th at the Wildhorse Saloon in Nashville, just like it has for the past decade. Tickets for the general public will go on sale Feb 1.  Pre-Sale for Fan club members for premium seating and after show meet & greet with Chely will go sale Jan. 15 at 10 AM EST.  If you've ever been to this show over the years, you know that it's always sold out well in advance, so be certain to get your tickets now.  The line up of special artists for the show is coming together and it is going to be spectacular, as always!   There will be an amazing silent and live auction and the fun will blow the roof off of that place.  It's the most fun you'll have all week long!

Chely Wright Fan Club

The Chely Wright Fan Club will be reactivated Saturday, Jan 9.
The 2009 fan club memberships will be honored for the year 2010.  What that means is that fan club members who had been in good standing in 2009 will receive an email from the Chely Wright Fan club the week after the new year informing them of their fan club status. This will all be done in time to purchase the fan club exclusive seating for the Reading, Writing & Rhythm Benefit Concert.  We wanted to honor those fans who had paid to be members for last year so they could continue to support Chely, but since she was focused on making her record, she didn't tour much; therefore, the paying fans got slighted.  This has worried us, Chely included.  So, we just wanted to make sure you knew how much we value those of you who have stayed so loyal to her and to our causes.
Sorry to have gone away for that year, but we hope that this gesture will help you feel appreciated.
We certainly do value you and the amazing support you have given Chely over the years and will continue to give her.
Thank you.

UPDATE ON BOB KAMPEN FOR HIS FRIENDS AT THE BK & GRINTER BARN
Bob Kampen is doing good,, he is still in the hospital. He had by-pass surgery on Thursday of last week. They did 5 by- passes, he was in ICU until Saturday and they moved him to a room. My Bob went up to visit him yesterday, ( I have been fighting a cold, so I stayed home), he was feeling good and looking forward to going home tomorrow or Wednesday. He has been up walking several times a day, getting stronger everyday.
Gladys is doing ok, she has had a lot of support from family and friends. Doris Ranck and I went to the hospital on Thursday and Friday to set with Gladys and family.  They are a very close family, so Gladys will have help taking care of Bob when he gets home.
We will all look forward to seeing Bob and Gladys back to BK and Grinter Barn.

AN ANNOUNCEMENT FROM OUR FRIEND DAVE WOOGE @ THE BURLINGTON OPRY
Howdy folks.  This Saturday is the Burlington Opry show down in Burlington.  We have an exceptional lineup for this show.  For starters, we have Don Roberts from Hartford. Don is an awesome entertainer.  His antics on stage and voice are both hilarious. He does a nice mixture of old and new music, but leans on the old.   We have for the first time in quite a while, Mr. Johnny Walker.  Johnny does more of the current country with a twist of older country. Johnny is country!!!.  We have the amazing Lorena Prater from Vassar.  Lorena is almost indescribable.  She is so high energy and fun that she lights up the whole stage.  We have guest fiddle player Thomas McGreggor.  You will enjoy his fiddle playing immensely.  We also have guest steel player Lane Gray from Topeka.  Lane plays in the country band called Too Country.  After you hear the songs he plays and sings, you will understand why…..

I had my foot surgery 3 weeks ago.  It is healing ahead of schedule.  The doctor said it would be 3 months before I got my cast off, now he is saying only about 2.  He’s very happy with it, so am I.  I will be hobbling around on crutches for the next two or three shows, but am getting around pretty good.  Russell, John, Dave and I will be backing up this wonderful group of musicians.  So, hope to see you when the curtain opens…
