A NOTE FROM DAVE WOOGE AND THE BURLINGTON (KS) OPRY
Howdy folks!  This Saturday is our May opry show.  We have a big line up, including, David Welch, also known as the singing bus driver from Belton, Mo.  Dave always brings a bus full of people.  We also have Lorena Prater singing some of her country greats and comedy. We also have the infamous Jim Fry from Olivette.  Jim is best known for his versions of The auctioneer, and I’ve been everywhere.  And last but definitely not least is The Kirchner family from Burlington.  Holly, Autumn, Summer and Wayne will entertain you with their fantastic voices.  The regular crew will be there,so come on down and enjoy the show.  Remember, we are back to one show a month beginning now, and there will be no show in July because it falls on July 4th.

See ya soon.

AN ANNOUNCEMENT FROM DAVE WOOGE'S BURLINGTON (KS) OPRY
Howdy folks.  This is our last 50s and 60s show for the season.  As of this show we are going back to one show per month until further notice.  We’ll see how everything is going this fall and make a decision as to whether or not we go back to two shows.

This Saturday night at the Burlington Opry  we have Don Roberts from Hartford.  Don usually sings country, but wanted a shot at 50s and 60s.  We are pleased to have his great personality and strong voice on  our stage.

We also have Lorena Prater.  She will be here for this show, and then she will be featured on our next show, singing country.  Looking forward to hearing her do country as it has been a while….

We also have Chuck Hammersmith from Lansing.  Chuck helps us a lot with back up harmonies and has a great singing voice.  Chuck and Dave will both be here this show.

We have a sit in drummer, Anthony Berry from Ottawa.  Anthony played with us for quite a while a few years ago.  We also have a sit in bass player, Richard Brockus .  Richard has been sitting in with us for a lot of the 50s and 60s shows…

Show starts at 7 this Saturday, doors open at 6:15.  Hope to see you when the curtain opens…..

HOOTIN' ANNIES UPDATE - OR ANNIE'S WHERE ART THOU?
Well, the Annies are getting into the spring weather - planting our gardens, tuning up the lawn mowers and looking forward to performing out and about.  Here is a heads up about where we will be and hope to see you all there.
Saturday, April 18, we are performing at the Lions Howdy Neighbor Show In Pleasant Hill, Missouri. This is a fundraiser for their scholarship fund which has taken a hit in funding this year so we would love to see you all there for this good cause. Show starts at 6:45 p.m. at the Pleasant Hill High School Performing Arts Center, 1 Rooster Way. Advance tickets Adults $8, Children $4, available at Pleasant Hill Bank, both locations, Community of Pleasant Hill Bank and the Pleasant Hill Times or they can be purchased at the door. Come out and say Howdy!

Saturday, May 16 and Sunday 17, we are competing in the National Single Mic competition at Silver Dollar City in Branson. This should be a fun time with 20 groups competing so lots of good Bluegrass music at a really fun place. Come and cheer us on!

June 4-7 - SPBGMA's 34th Annual Spring Bluegrass Music Festival
We love to play in Kirksville and we plan to be camping and playing at the NEMO Fairgrounds in Kirksville, MO. 1 mile East of Hwy. 63 on Hwy. 11, Kirksville, MO. We're on the bill for two shows Saturday and a gospel set Sunday morning.
Contact: Chuck Stearman, P.O. Box 271, Kirksville, MO 63501, 660-665-7172, fax 660-665-7450, email spbgma@kvmo.net for festival information
June 11-13: 16th Annual Prairie Lake Pickin' Party, Holton Kansas. This is one of our favorite places to camp as the lake is so lovely, there is even fishing! We are playing Saturday evening around 6 PM but come for all of this free will donation festival, featuring local and regional bands and plenty of pickin' around the festival grounds. There is a stage in some shade trees of this nice lake park there even is a band scramble to give pickers a chance to meet new people and do short stage performances. Simple pasture camping (dry), partial shade, with a pit toilet and limited electricity.  Prairie Lake is one mile north and 3.5 miles east of Holton, Kansas. http://www.accesskansas.org/kppa/page7_festival.htm
Prater Family Music Show - June 25 - 26 - 27, 2009
Located in Fillmore, MO. the Prater Family Farm festival is celebrating its 20th anniversary and the Annies will be there hootin' and hollering and having a great time. Alan Prater knows how to put on a great festival and he is pulling out all the stops for this special year. Also on the bill are The Chapmans, The Faris Family (featuring Jimmy-Annie Campbell), The Lewis Family, Sharon Graeff & Heritage and a special appearance by The Best of Friends on Friday night.  Don't miss this one!
