SATURDAY NIGHT SCHEDULE AT THE BURLINGTON OPRY
Howdy folks.  This Saturday night at the Burlington Opry we are having our oldies show with  have Don Erbert, retired elvis singer.  He sings elvis, Tom Jones, Willie Nelson and others.  He is coming out of retirement to do this show.  He claims this is his last show, but we’ll see.  Along with Don, we have Lorena Prater from Vasaar.  Lorena is well known in the area.  She is one of the great performers that graces our stage.  We also have Dan Wooge (no relation)  ha ha.  Dan Don and I used to travel together and do road shows.  It will be fun having us back together again.  Don’s granddaughter Jordan will be singing with us, and we have a surprise guest from Kansas City to sing a great 70’s song.  He is wonderful.  Jody, Dave, Dave, Mark, Katie, Erin and guest jim Welty will be entertaining you all evening.  Plan to arrive early for good seating.  The weather looks to be fine and last year on this show we almost sold out….

HOOTIN ANNIE'S NEWSLETTER - JANUARY 2009
Howdy Annie Fans!
We wanted to wish you a Happy New Year and to brag a bit about our wonderful Karla Campbell. She was named Bass Player of the Year at  SPBGMA's 35th Annual Midwest Bluegrass Music Awards and Convention in a hopping Jefferson City ceremony this weekend. As you all know she is a very talented gal and we are so tickled that her hard work and showmanship have been recognized. She cried and thanked all the little people (that's us) and acted like the real prize winning and talented bass player she is, and we are busting our buttons we are so proud.  
Also at this convention Karla's talented husband Jimmy Campbell had his debut as the newest member of the Faris Family. Eddie Faris has left the family fold to play with Ricky Scaggs and Jimmy has stepped into his place with this high powered Midwest band.
So now that you are up on all the news let me tell you where the Hootin' Annies are playing the next few months.
On January 31st the Annies join the City of Fountains Sweet Adelines at their annual review "Women of Note" at 8:00 at the Off Center Theatre at Crown Center in Kansas City. Tickets are $18, Seniors and Students $15 and are available through the Heartland Theatre box office at 816-842-9999 or https://tickets.ahtkc.com 
This show should be a lot of fun with all these musical women together and our favorite bass player is the MC, a chance to get her dressed up in sequins and high heels! Come join us and warm up a January night with music!

March 23rd, a Monday Night, we are playing on at the Corbin Theater in Liberty Missouri
for their monthly Bluegrass Night. The show starts at 7pm and this is a fun intimate theatre so come early and get a good seat.  We had a ball when we played there last year and I know we will have fun again and hope you are there to share it with us. The Corbin is a 15N. Water Street, right on the square and is easy to find. 816-581-0045.  Suggested donation is $5
We'll be back at "The Farm" in June for the Prater Family 20th Anniversary celebration, and have a few more tricks up our sleeves as well - have to save something for the next Annie Update!

Thanks for your support of our music and for voting for the Annies in this SPBGMA Season. In all, there were 6 nominations for the group including Entertaining Group of the Year, Album of the Year, Songwriter of the Year (Stephie-Annie), Female Vocalist of the Year - Contemporary, and Entertainer of the Year (Karla-Annie).  It's TRUE that the real honor is in the nominations!

The Martins Receive 10 SPBGMA Midwest Nominations!
Hello Everybody, We are honored to have received 10 SPBGMA midwest nominations this year, including "Entertaining Group Of The Year", and "Vocal Group Of The Year"! Thanks to everyone who voted for us! The awards show and convention is this Saturday at the Capitol Plaza Hotel here in Jefferson City, MO. Also this month we will be going to California! This we will be our second year for the Blythe Bluegrass Festival. We also have a trip to North Carolina coming up at the end of this month! We hope to see you all soon, and thanks for your support! MICHELLE LEA'S NEWSLETTER
Hey Guys,
We wanted to drop everyone a note to tell you about Michelle's booking with Annie's Country Jubilee on the 24th of this month.  Annie and Terry Dunavin has one of the best shows with some of the best musicians in Country Music in good ole' Tonganoxie, KS.   Michelle really enjoys performing on their wonderful stage which has one of the best sound systems in the Kansas City area.  Annie is an accomplished artist with a beautiful voice who has been entertaining folks for many years.  Halie Walker is also an accomplished vocalist who we have had the pleasure of listening to for several years now - she should also be performing and providing excellent harmony as well.

I will send out one more reminder regarding this show about a week before the 24th.  This is one show you do not want to miss.
Also, Thank you all for the wonderful comments regarding some of Michelle's latest recordings and especially your interest in her latest music video "Will The Circle Be Unbroken" - Tribute to Maybelle Carter.  Within hours of posting the video on YouTube Michelle got over 50 hits.   However, Michelle made me pull it from YouTube to make some minor changes...lol   It is now back on YouTube and the hit counter started over again but within a few days the video got some very nice comments with a total of over 300 hits - so far.  We would like to give a special thanks out to Tommy Campbell for lending his time and talent to make the recording and video a huge success.
We are also very pleased over Michelle's "Georgia Rain" video which has been on YouTube for nearly 8 months now and it has had nearly 1500 hits.  Something else worth mentioning is Michelle's website.  It has had over 23,000 hits - Not bad for a country girl with a dream and a lot of determination huh?
Thanks again for your continued support and we hope to see many of you on the 24th.

Hello folks and happy New Year.  Tomorrow night (Saturday) is our show at the Burlington Opry.  Our guests are, the Singing Bus Driver, Mr. David Welch from Belton.  David brings a bus full of people  and then performs on stage with the band.  If you have never seen David perform you have missed out.  We also have the Dickie family from Louisburg.  The family is a band with the mother playing the bass, dad on guitar and the girls playing mandolin and fiddle.  They are a pleasure to watch.  We are also pleased to have Ronda Kemble.  Ronda has sang backup at local oprys and is always a lot of fun.  We have Jody on steel, Russ on bass, myself on keys, Mark Paquette on drums, and David Hammersmith on guitar.

Burlington opry is located I-35 to Beto jctn (75 highway) straight south into Burlington to the second stoplight.  On your right is a red caboose and we are on the other side of the caboose.  Doors open at 6:15, show at 7.  Tickets are 12 dollars for adults, 6 for kids 10-15, and under 6 are free.

NO BURLINGTON OPRY THIS SATURDAY NIGHT
Howdy folks.  With the weather we’ve had the parking lot behind the theater  is a huge sheet of ice.  This along with the ice we’re going to get tomorrow, and then a call for snow on Saturday, I have decided to cancel the show for this Saturday.  I’m sorry for any inconvenience.  Meanwhile, Merry Christmas, we’ll see you next year….
